Orlando Pirates, Le Havre Both Eyeing Percy Tau
Orlando Pirates may miss out on signing former Mamelodi Sundowns player, Percy Tau.
Last week, it was reported that Tau had left Al Ahly SC after only one year. Although sources close to the Egyptian outfit confirmed that these reports were false, that didn’t stop other clubs – including Kaizer Chiefs – from expressing their interest in him.
Indeed, recent reports suggest that Pirates are also interested in signing the 28-year-old forward on loan “with a clause in place at the end of the season that allows the club to sign him permanently if he performs well.”
However, French club Le Havre AC are reportedly also planning to lure Tau to the Ligue 2 on a loan deal for the 2022/2023 season.
Luka Elsner, who coaches Le Havre, previously managed Tau at Royal Union Saint-Gilloise from 2018 to 2019, so it’s likely that the former wants to make use of the latter’s talent so that they can improve their standing on the Ligue 2 table.
Only time will tell when and where Tau will decide to ply his trade.
